Latin American investment in Spain grew by 138% in 2023

During 2023, investment in Latin America increased by 138% compared to the previous year. Which reaffirms Spain as the first destination in Europe behind the United States.

According to “Global Latam 2024” and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), 58% of the investment came from Mexico, on the other hand Argentina leads the list in number of projects with 71 presented, compared to 70 from Mexico.

Mexico has larger investments due to multinational companies such as Cemes or Bimbo, while Argentina mainly has an investment made up of various technology-based SMEs such as Apexar or Novakor.

The second largest investor is Honduras (501 million), second by Argentina (196 million) and in fourth place Uruguay (101 million)

In total there are around 20 Latin American countries investing in Spain with the presence of more than 600 companies and 47,000 jobs.
